Mystical Sounds Prepare yourself for a musical awakening this spring! Haydn’s Seven Last Words of Christ and Vaughan Williams’ Five Mystical Songs combine mystical texts and compelling music to create a breathtaking concert experience. Soloists include Metropolitan Opera sensation Leah Wool, Staff Sergeant Matthew Heil of the United States Army Chorus, and our favorite Sarasota soloist, Michelle Giglio. Sounds of Freedom Buy your tickets early! This July 4 tradition sells out every season, and this year will be no different. In addition to the rousing sounds of classic Americana, our annual tribute to America’s independence will feature a new choral setting of Henry Wadsworth Longfellow’s The Midnight Ride of Paul Revere. As a special treat, the featured soloist will be Sarasota’s youngest and brightest star, Maria Wirries, in her Gloria Musicae debut. Tribute to the Boston Pops Conducted by Andrew Lane, Gloria Musicae joins the Sarasota Orchestra in this special celebration of the Boston Pops. A Master Class Benefit Hope Koehler, the great soprano from The American Spiritual Ensemble, takes time between her appearances for the Artist Series Concerts of Sarasota to work with young apprentices from Gloria Musicae.
